Poem#7: Love To Another

I love the way

Your hair dips down

Over your ears.

I know the day

I leave, you’ll frown.

I know tears.

You cry won’t be

For me or you,

But for the love we shared

I love the way

You’ll let me leave

Because of love we’ve shared.

I wish I knew

Before you

Gave your love to another.

I wish I’d done

What you got from him,

I wish we’d gotten further.

I love the way

We used to laugh

At one another.

I love the way you made me feel

When you told me about the other

Man you loved, when you didn’t love me.

How he made you free.

I love the way you let me down,

I love the way you leave.

I wish I knew

Before you

Gave your love to another.

I wish I’d done

What you got from him,

I wish we’d gotten further.
